What is
EECP®?
EECP® (Enhanced
External Counterpulsation) is a non-surgical treatment for Angina
& Coronary Artery Disease. It is an alternative to bypass
surgery and angioplasty. It works by stimulating the opening or
formation of small blood vessels (collaterals) to create natural
bypasses around narrowed or blocked arteries. |

How Does EECP® Work?
EECP® is able to
stimulate the growth and development of tiny blood vessels, called
"collaterals", in the heart that are able to carry blood around the
blocked arteries and restore flow to the affected area. This effect
has been demonstrated on Nuclear Stress tests that illustrate the
improved blood flow to the heart muscle. Many studies have shown
that these new collateral vessels remain functioning long after the
EECP® treatments are done.
